Book Fair

For Read Across America Week parents came to school for a reading playdate. Parents were able to read with their children and children were able to read with buddies. Students were also able to go to the book fair and get a book.

Read Across America Week

Prospect students participated in various activities to celebrate Read Acrosss America Week! Kindergarten students got a visit from Mr. Joe from the Hempstead Library. Students learned about the library, library cards and participated in an interactive read aloud of Green Eggs and Ham. This was a great start off to our Read Across America Week at Prospect School. Students also got to try green eggs and ham! Students enjoyed dressing up for Read Across America Spirit Week as they wore crazy hats, and character shirts. The week was concluded with a reading playdate with parents!

 

100 day steps

Students celebrated the 100th day of school by participating in various activities including counting to 100, taking 100 steps, 100 exercises, 100 day arts and crafts and hats. 

Readers As Leaders

Hempstead High School students came to visit Prospect School and read with Kindergarten classes. Students were excited to read and learn from their reading buddies!

Black history 4

Students enjoyed and participated in a Black History Assembly. Students listened to music, watched dances and were even able to join in playing musical instruments!

Liberty dental

Prospect students were visited by Liberty Dental. Students learned about keeping their teeth clean and healthy. Students that signed consent forms were able to get an exam from the dentists.

Pre-K Enrollment Now Open for the 2026–2027 School Year

Hempstead Public Schools is pleased to announce that Universal Pre-K enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year is now open at Prospect School. This full-day program provides our youngest learners with a strong foundation in a nurturing, engaging, and joyful learning environment.

Puppet Show

Pre-K and Kindergarten students at Prospect School enjoyed and participated in a puppet show, as kindergarten entered our How We Express Ourselves IB Unit.

Martin Luther King

Students celebrated the life of Martin Luther King. Students learned about Martin Luther King and did acts of kindness in the classroom in honor of him!
